MOD Magazine: Puchette Escano Featured as One of those to Make a Mark in 2010
Mod Magazine's Forecast 2010 Issue (Jan to Feb 2010) features trends, places and people who they predict will make a difference in their respective fields. One of these people was Puchette Escano (for Painting).
Among those included in the forecast was Maja Salvador (Showbusiness), Loren Legarda (Public Service),Camille Villar (Entrepreneurship), Love-love Tioseco (Sports), Erika Basilio (Ballet), Danica Calapatan (Gymnastics), Divine Lee (Business), Sophia Cocuaco (Events Management), Cecile Infantado ( Dentistry), Lenka (Music), Letty Jacinto-Lopez and Brent Lee (Literature), and Luisito Cleofas (Photography).
Excerpt:
"...(Maria Pureza Escano's) early works are characterized by impressionist influences which were ranked at par with the great American Impressionists.
At the age of nine, Escano started to paint after seeing a coffee table book on the French Impressionists. Sourcing inspiration from Sariaya's landscapes, rich culture, and Fil-Hispanic-American infusions, her works are noted for their soulful and light-hearted subjects and scenes reminiscent of her clasical and impressionist exposure. Today Escano is a fast-growing figure in the global art scene, following the phenomenal success of her two shows at New Yorks's prestigious Ico Gallery (curated by Skylor Brummans) in March and May 2009.
Escano is one of the banner artists of Ico Gallery-Chelsea in Ne wYork this April. For details, log on to puchetteescano.weebly.com."
